Essentialism by Greg McKeown: A Book Review

Book: Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less

Author: Greg McKeown

A wonderful book that can change your life. (Well, seriously so many books claim to change and transform your life, however this is one good book you can definitely bet on) Learn to identify your "Essential intent" and eliminate irrelevance, cut through the noise and see your most important priorities clearly. There are many practical ideas in this book, that can help you: declutter, focus, and prioritize like your life depends on it.

The central idea of the book is to spotlight and understand the psyche of both the Essentialist and the Non-Essentialist. We're what we choose to be in our life and the choices we make, in turn define our future. You'll find some powerful quotes, thinking models, frameworks, and diagrams that can help you bring in absolute clarity into your life and work.

Everyone should read this book.

Less is really more.

We have limited time and half the battle is won, if you know what is essential in your life. This book instills the required discipline in pursuing our life's work.

The most important takeaway: Our highest priority is to protect our ability to prioritize.

I would also recommend you to read The One Thing. A book with similar theme that drives home the irrefutable point about discipline and the need to find and focus only on what matters in your life.
