The 3 Steps for Good UX

Here are three steps to crafting a good user experience.

Interaction, Information & Transaction.

These three steps should be addressed consistently across markets, channels and touchpoints creating a patterned user experience, boosting your business revenue and brand equity. Here are a few questions, user experience architects should be asking at a foundational level.

Interaction

An interaction should either lead to information or a transaction. How seamless is our interaction? Is there any friction that's stopping the user to seek information? Are users facing any impediments in progressing from seeking information to performing a transaction? Are we findable, reachable and accessible across? If you don't open the gates, how can you expect people to interact with you?

Information

How useful and influential is our information? Are we giving the breadth and depth of information to our users? Are users able to make informed decisions and potential transactions today, tomorrow or in near future? Is under/over information becoming a bottleneck to perform a transaction? If you don't give information freely, how can you expect customers to make a decision - transaction?

Transaction

How easily can a user complete a transaction? How self-reliant are users in performing a transaction with us? Is information handy at all times, from pre to during and post transactional interaction? How consistent are we in terms of product and process, across channels? Is the transaction leading to more interaction and information in a positive way? If you don't close a transaction, how can you build a relationship - a series of quality interactions and transactions over time?

Building a predefined and patterned user experience helps in user acquisition, adoption, engagement, revenue, and brand equity.
