Accept Rejection and Reject Acceptance
Learn to show contempt to both acceptance and rejection.
If you take one, you have take both.
The former is sweet, keeps you wanting more, and the latter is bitter and you don’t want it any more. Turn that bitter feeling into a better feeling. The pain of rejection is fuel. On the contrary, baseless acceptance and continuous success can be detrimental to your wellbeing. You turn delusional and complacency sets in. Rejection teaches you a lot more in life, preparing you for bigger things.
Just imagine — you’re continuously accepted and appreciated every moment in everything you do. That’s the most boring, stupid, and meaningless experience you can have in life. Some critical rejection actually saves you and keeps you sane. Take both acceptance and rejection with a pinch of salt, or may be sugar, I don’t know. The point is to shun them away and not let external validation — good or bad to lead your life.
Don’t think that the world revolves around you. It doesn’t! I repeat once again — now matter who you are, it doesn’t! Let that sink in for a while. For powerful people it might look and feel like that, however it just doesn't. You're too insignificant in the grand scheme of things. This is the fundamental perspective every human being needs to contemplate on and remind themselves, not in just times of stress and distress, but also when you’re having the best moments of your life. At the surface, it might seem it’s all working out for you. However, the collective matters more than the individual. The world is not just you and about you.
Being rejected? It’s not you. Don’t ask why-me? Life happens and no one has a clue about why some things happen to us. It’s the plan of the universe. I'm a strong believer in karma. What goes around comes around. If you have done mistakes, be ready for the consequences. If you have done good, be ready for the blessings. We have absolutely limited control and that’s what we should be focusing and leveraging on. All else is not our problem. Give your best in that span of control and leave the rest.
You do your thing.
