The Writing Muscle
Start small. First, write a thought in 10-words. Write a few more thoughts. Next, structure your thoughts and ideas and write a short article, then a long-form article, and then a few more articles that can get you in the groove. It can be an essay, a blog post, article, poem, screenplay, or whatever. The format doesn't matter. Focus on taking the first step and eventually you'll figure out the formats. Focus on the expression.
Eventually, you'll build the momentum to outline and structure your ideas into a short book. Next, you'll gain the confidence and the muscle to write a full-fledged book, and even a series of books. Well, the end goal of writing is not necessarily always a book, however all forms of writing are a way to think, structure and express our ideas. You should focus on what matters to you.
Don't fixate on which tool to use, what kind of pen or software you need. Tools are only a means.
BTW, if you're not comfortable posting online, don't. The point is you have to write, no matter what. Create rules, systems, and routines that work for you. You are the creator and you have to define how you want to work.
Starting small isn't thinking small.
Start writing and thinking; instead of thinking about writing.
Writing is a muscle. You have to build the muscle to one fine day, you'll find your so-called best idea. The more you write the better are your chances for success. The more you think about writing, the lower are your chances of success.
